Browned Butter Mashed Potatoes Recipe
Ingredients:
3 tbsp of unsalted butter
3-4 cloves of minced garlic
2 russet potatoes (washed)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Begin by boiling the potatoes in a pot of water. Boil them until they are fork-tender, which should take around 20-30 minutes.
Once the potatoes are done boiling, run them under cold water to cool them down, and then peel them.
In a small skillet, heat the butter over low heat. Cook the butter until it starts to brown and give off a nutty aroma. Once the butter is browned, remove it from the heat.
Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the browned butter and stir it in.
In a large bowl, mash the potatoes with a fork or a potato masher. Once they are mashed, add in half of the butter and garlic mixture and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish the mashed potatoes with chives and pour the rest of the butter and garlic mixture over the top.
