Flour Tortillas Recipe –
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup hot water
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
Add the butter and mix with your hands until the mixture becomes crumbly and resembles small peas.
Slowly add in the hot water and mix with a fork until a soft dough forms. Use your hands to form the dough into a ball and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 to 10 pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Flatten each ball with the palm of your hand and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rest for another 30 minutes.
Dust a clean surface with flour and roll out each ball of dough into a thin flat circle.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and place one tortilla onto the pan. Cook for about 30 seconds or until bubbles start to form on the surface, then flip the tortilla and cook for another 30 seconds.
Flip the tortilla again and cook until it starts to puff up and the surface is slightly browned, for another 30 seconds. Remove the tortilla from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining tortillas.
Serve warm and enjoy!
These homemade flour tortillas are incredibly soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. They are perfect for making tacos, burritos, quesadillas, or any other Mexican-inspired dish.
